paybacks

susan is a wonderful wonderful woman. we worked together on the same team at VML. she had this awesome couch in her cube and i when i was pregnant would often plop myself down for a good visit. when i decided to jump into my photo world with both feet she was the one that developed my logo! she listened to what i needed and made exactly what i couldn't execute. perfect. a year later, she finally took me up on my offer to photograph her and her twins, alex and jake!

jake and alex were so funny. it was great to have them on the farm enjoying (or not so much) squishy soft grass, beetle shells, and cobwebs! it's fun to see susan as a momma- she's awesome!

thanks for everything susan- love you! emme

thanks for playing: sarah's senior pictures

i did sarah's senior pictures yesterday afternoon. she was such good sport, some of my instructions really make me laugh 12 hours later, such as- so go ahead and make a pyramid guys, sarah could you balance yourself on the edge of the wagon?, sit right here on the edge of this disgusting greasy desk in the machine shed, so i want you to sit on the top of the couch, but we're going to take it outside in the grass. she was probably thinking- this girl is a real nut job- but she humored me anyway and i love what we got!

sarah is the oldest of 3 girls, with a mom that's a ton of fun and so we took a couple shots of all the girls at first. they crack me up with how different they are.

Thanks shelby, brea, and stacey for doing ridiculous things to make these photos possible!

easy goin' girl

payton and her mom came to the farm for the morning. first of all i love her name (my middle name is payton) secondly i love her 2 bottom teeth. it's these little things that make me love babies. her little shoulder shrug smile melted my heart!

deacon joined me for this shoot and i think he just might have a little crush on this cutie!

precious jack

and he is. with wispy hair, sparkling eyes, and a button nose jack is the beyond adorable. his outfits were straight out of the south, a bubble suit and smocking! i LOVE a little one in a bubble suit!

he was so sweet, serious until daddy arrived, and when he was finished he let us know!

enjoy!

ryan and annie's picture perfect wedding

have you ever met a group of people, or a family and just wanted them to adopt you?  this is what happened to me saturday.  i shot the wedding of Annie and Ryan, two amazing people with precious families and the most loyal of friends.  by the time i was finished shooting i felt like a cousin, or old college friend.

let me describe annie to you: classic.  her look and her attitude is so timeless, it's almost regal.  as she greeted me in the entry of Visitation Church her first words were, "sorry i was a few minutes late but i went ahead and put on my dress to save time".  this is not like most brides, more concerned about others than herself, but that's annie.   her off the shoulder silhouetted gown looked as though the seamstress created it piece by piece while annie stood patiently applauding with excitement, like annie does, at every beautiful stitch.  the hair piece she chose was a beautiful compliment and moved from the top of the veil to the side once the reception began.

ryan: hilarious.  the entire day was pure laughter. my sides hurt from the comments and jokes that came from ryan and his 3 brothers and friends that might has well be.  he may have been nervous but he was having the time of his life.  he pulled me to the side at one point and said, you know we are just kidding with you right?  see, that's the other piece that i know annie fell in love with, the way he stops to make sure that everything taken care of. (side note groomsmen that give me a hard time are my favorites)

their wedding day couldn't have been more perfect. it was light yet reverent, beautiful but in a classic sort of way.   i chose these photographs reluctantly- i have so many that show the beauty and the hilarity of the day, i hope these do it justice.

thank you ryan and annie for letting me laugh with you and for letting me grow to love you and your friends and family.
