i stopped in st.louis on the way home from kentucky- it's a good stopping point and a chance to hang out with my sister and her family. before miranda (my sister) got home from work i took a few photos of burke and campbell in the front yard. in the middle of shooting miranda pulled in the driveway- that's the first photo. i love that these kids love their mom so much that they get that excited to see her. awesome.
campbell is an almost exact replica of me when i was little- it's strange. my sister has almost jet black hair, really dark features, but campell looks, and pretty much acts just like a mini meredith. how cool is that?
the main reason i love to photograph people is the connection we gain. not many people love to be photographed, it's a vulnerable place, but my goal is to have fun, open them up, and capture something different. for me a photo shoot is more than just snapping some shots, it's about finding common ground. i hope all my clients feel like they are hanging out with an old friend by the time the day is over.
